Born in the U.K., Adam grew up with the legacy of his creative forefathers all around him. His great aunt, Edith Tudor Hart, the first in the family to take up a camera, was also one of the first female documentary photographers of the twentieth century. Adam’s grandfather, Wolfgang Suschitzky, a talented photographer who became a notable cinematographer. Adam’s father, Peter Suschitzky, was the cinematographer of many great movies including one that had a huge impact on Adam growing up. 

Graduating from the National Film and Television School in 1997, Adam began his career making commercials, music videos and documentaries, but swiftly progressed into long form. Early examples of his work for television were the pilot for Life on Mars, Philip Pullman’s The Shadow in the North, and the BBC adaptation of Jane Austin’s Emma. Receiving a nomination for his work on the mini series Titanic, by Julian Fellows, in 2012 the British Society of Cinematographers invited him to join their ranks. 

In the last ten years Adam has been mainly shooting in the USA and Canada where he made many hours of television for US Networks and streaming platforms. Shows such as Yellowstone, Steven King’s 11/22/63, Fear The Walking Dead, and most recently, Foundation for Skydance/Apple TV, are some notable examples of recent work. 

Adam photographed the short film, Red White and Blue with writer-director Nazrin Chowdhry which was nominated at the 96th Oscars ceremony in 2024.

He is represented in the USA by CAA, where he is a member of the Local 600.

In the U.K. Adam is represented by United Agents.

Adam has both British & German citizenship.
