A great script with a challenging brief to transform an Asda supermarket into a Star Wars universe using camera and lighting. I loved collaborating with an old time favourite director, Bharat Nalluri & the talented Mob Film, to create this charming spot. Equally brilliant was the creative team, lead by Christian Knowels-Fitton, from Bark & Bite who not only wrote this but did AMAZING visual effects in no time at all!
Using the beautiful C & V Series Hawk anamorphics on an Alexa XT helped emulate the old and new Star Wars movies. Also, I used the totally revolutionary Arri Sky Panels for the first time. I had to choose a light source that would not only light the scene but look appropriate in shot, while giving us a fast turn around in colour output. Using these sources allowed me to move very fast in relighting the same set to a completely different look in seconds.
I've always loved the series Luther since its beginning, so to shoot the promo for the latest season was great fun.
Made with the awesome creative team at the BBC, and produced by the wonderful team at Annex Films.
A delightful & challenging concept to photograph over forty animals in a day with a high key, photographic style. It was great, as ever, working with the very talented director/photgrapher Sean De Sparingo. The director & I chose the Leica Summilux-C lenses for their sharpness and rich, velvety contrast on the Alexa.
Launching a new drama channel in the UK, this was one of several idents to draw in audiences with a taste of the programs available. Written and directed by the multi talented Gavin Leisfield, this was a wonderful mix of scripts shot in Glasgow.
